FaceTory Launches Urban Calm Fermented Skincare Line

FaceTory is expanding their skincare portfolio with the launch of Urban Calm to focus on the most powerful ingredient formulation to support your skin— fermentation.

This 4-piece skincare collection uses potent fermented-focused ingredient formulations packed with antioxidant-rich vitamins and minerals to rebalance the skin barrier and microbiome. This feeds the skin with recharging ingredients that support the skin barrier and help the microbiome flourish. The line includes a Gel Cleanser with Fermented Pear and LHA, Soft Essence with Fermented Seaweed and 5% Panthenol, Vita Serum with Fermented Mung Bean and Barrier Cream with Fermented Honeybush and Hyaluronic Acid.

“We believe in the power of fermented ingredients as the best way to calm and support the skin microbiome,” explains Sang Lee, CEO of FaceTory. “We’ve chosen natural ingredients traditionally used in Korean beauty and medicine like Pear, Seaweed, Mung Bean, Honeybush, and Cica to go through the fermentation process to make the ingredient even more potent. To help increase the efficacy of our formulation, we included functional ingredients like Capryloyl Salicylic Acid, Vitamin B3 and B5, and Hyaluronic Acid, to tackle various skin concerns and to support healthy skin.”

All skin types can benefit from ferments, but thanks to its hydrating abilities, this ingredient is especially helpful for dry or combination skin types. Because it also helps repair and firm skin, ferments are also ideal for aging skin, to help restore its youthful glow.

Fermented ingredients are more effective than non-fermented counterparts. This is because fermented skincare products have ingredients that have been broken down through the fermentation process, making them smaller and more easily absorbed than other products. Fermented ingredients are also able to penetrate deeper than non-fermented ingredients thanks to their smaller molecules.

“Using clean and gentle ingredients, each Urban Calm product is thoroughly researched by our in-house product development team and tested by VIPs and trusted friends. Driven by the lack of efficacy in the skincare industry, we formulate our products with ferments to enhance potency and effectiveness. Each step matters and we strive to improve our product formulations as the world changes day by day,” adds Lee.
