Keri Russell Styled with milk_shake Haircare for Critics Choice Awards
When it comes to red carpet glam, every detail matters—especially the hair. For this year’s Critics Choice Awards, celebrity hairstylist Brian Magallones worked his magic on nominee Keri Russell, creating a stunning look using milk_shake haircare. Nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Series for her role in Netflix’s The Diplomat, Keri’s effortless elegance was the perfect complement to the evening’s star-studded affair. For the 2025 Critics Choice, Keri dressed from head to toe in beautiful, classic, chic. Chanel. I wanted to keep it cool and effortless, yet classic and chic. So, I decided to pull her hair back off her face, and put it in a low knot, imperfectly perfect, in keeping with the cool, chic vibe.
After showering, before blow drying her hair, I lightly misted her hair with the milk_shake incredible milk leave in treatment which really helped to detangle her hair. Next, I rubbed 2 drops of the milk_shake incredible serum between my palms and ran it through her hair to help prevent frizz and add shine. It really helped to give her hair a smooth glass-like shine. Next, I blow dried the hair to get it nice and smooth, and as I did, I misted each section with milk_shake lifestyling flexible hold hairspray for light hold. The next step was to curl her hair with a large barrel curling iron, again, misting with milk_shake lifestyling flexible hold hairspray along the way.
Beauty Tip: Any time you put hair into a bun, always curl first with a curling iron to help mold it into the style and to prevent flyaways. It gives a much cleaner finished look.
I then sprayed some milk_shake lifestyling dry shampoo into her hair to give it some texture. I then finger combed her hair back and secured it in a low ponytail. I applied some milk_shake lifestyling smoothing cream to the ponytail to smooth it out. Next, I formed the bun by twisting the hair around the base, pinning it into a messy bun. I finished the look with a good spray of milk_shake lifestyling extra strong hairspray and a light mist of milk_shake incredible oil to keep her hair holding and shining all night long.
